About
The College Republicans at the University of Texas were established in 1950, in Austin, Texas. The City of Austin has long maintained a reputation as a hotbed of liberalism, à la the "blueberry submerged in tomato soup" (Governor Rick Perry, 2014); our organization was founded with the intention of opposing these ideologies day-to-day on campus.
We are affiliated with the Texas GOP, and therefore are deeply involved with the happenings in our state and capital city. We are committed to mobilizing students to champion the conservative values that built our Texas and the United States of America. Moreover, we are devoted to providing a community in which students can freely express their views and develop lasting relationships with their peers.
*Our other aliases include the Texas CRs, or UTCRs.
